Here we have a returning old friend. This 3" scale Plastow Burrell was in fact Steam Workshop's very first traction engine full rebuild, and only the second steam engine we ever restored! It even has it's own page in our projects galleries. SW Rebuild Number 2. We finished it to the customer's specification, hand lining everything even signwriting of the chosen name 'Duke of Kent' in paint on the barrel as the customer requested.
It's been well looked after over the years, and has a fairly new steel boiler fitted with all the relevant paperwork. There's an injector and a crank pump fitted, and lubrication is mechanical us usual. She still runs beautifully smoothly and will tick over extremely slowly. She comes with the driving truck all freshly tested and ready to run. Video to be uploaded shortly.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!
We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
